Growing Your Online Footprint as an Author

steinchen on Pixabay Part of establishing your brand as an author is broadening your internet footprint.  This helps to ensure that if someone is looking for you, perhaps because they're considering buying your book on Amazon, you're easy to find.  I have a fairly common name, but if someone does a Google search using the terms "Ashley Peterson mental health", I want the majority of the hits that come up to be related to me, since my book  is about mental health.  A website/blog is one good way to establish a presence, but to really take charge of your personal brand, you need to get around a bit.  This is especially true if the words in your blog name are fairly generic, as is the case with...

Dylan & the Croak Orleans Gang

Dylan & the Croak Orleans Gang Dylan is a frog who travels to Croak Orleans to fulfill his dreams. Dylan meets Travis, the armadillo, and other Louisiana animals that are known in the area.  I use my niece and nephews and own kids’ talents of music in my book.  This idea was formed after meeting my husband’s brother and his family. I write about meeting the animals, but also I write about the kind of instruments each animal uses. It is a neat story that parents can talk to about meeting strangers and the danger tot do what Dylan did.  This story could open many good conversations with parents and kids. to find this book click here Dylan & the Croak Orleans Gang  5.0 out of 5 stars   ...

I got the phenomenal Eric Shelman to do the narration for the audio version and it’s only $1.99. He really brings the characters to life. Paperback is available also at cost, I make nothing from it. The book was released in Februar...

Retweet Groups ~ The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

The use of social media for an author is important during this age where we are competing with so many others to sell our books. Gone are the days when an agent and/or publisher would fete an author with trips to expensive restaurants, book them on national talk shows, or send them on whirlwind book tours to prestigious bookstores.   Wow! That sounds like it would have been a lot of fun. However, today’s author faces a different situation when getting word about their book out. Promotion budgets at the Big 5 are often reserved for well-established authors or celebrities. Those of us considered mid-list are consigned to setting up our own promotion daily and often have a miniscule budget in w...
